St Jude feast & feast of the Holy Rosary 2017

St Jude  syro- Malabar parish, c/o st emile parish Winnipeg,

St. Jude Syro Malabar Parish, Winnipeg celebrated a month long spiritual commemoration to St Jude, its patron and feast of Holy rosary. The month of October has special significance to the catholic people worldwide.. St. Jude Parish also celebrated its first birthday this month with great zeal, and fervor. The parish offered its gratitude to God’s abundant blessings, to expand its outreach to the Malayalee Christian community in Winnipeg and other neighboring communities in Manitoba in Canada.

This year a month long prayers were led by four area prayer units of the parish, i.e. St. Alphonsa, St. Mary’s, St. Stephens, and St. Thomas. Each prayer units held Rosary and prayer in their respective area by gathering in different homes and families for first ten days of the month. Thereafter October 20th onwards Rosary, Novena and holy Qurbana was celebrated in the parish church for different intentions of the Parish Members. Different   families brought Nercha (offerings) in the form of various traditional food confectionaries for all ten days of prayer and worship.

Parish held a night vigil for all parish members for prayer and worship from Evening 7 pm to 12:30 am on 27th Friday night. During this time the parish members had an opportunity to participate in adoration, prayers and Holy Qurbana and receive the sacrament of confession. Night vigil was led by Fr. Subash, accompanied by Parish Priest Fr. Tomy and Fr. Das. The Night Vigil brought together around 150 parish members. A special blessing and prayer was offered for their intentions of young kids and youth.

St. Jude Perunnal/Feast was celebrated on 29th Sunday October 2017 with great joy and excitement in the parish. About 300 faithful participated. Holy Qurbana was presided by Reverend Archbishop Albert Le Gatt , St. Boniface Archdiocese, Winnipeg. Father Gerry, Pastor of St. Emilie Parish. Our parish priest Father Tomy Chittinapilly started the Holy Qurbana with a welcome note. Soon after the Holy Qurbana, Perunnal/Feast Procession was held inside the church carrying the Statues of St Jude and Mother Mary, Ladeenj, benediction and Agape. Parish youth team had organized special games for kids which turned out into a great fun even for kids and young people.  Parish members during this holy month experienced the love of Lord Jesus though the intercession of St Jude and Mother Mary and offered thanks and praise toward God’s unconditional blessings.
